Presentation of “Mailen” in the 9º Festival de Cine Indigena de Valparaíso
On wednesday 10th of january at 19hrs in the room Rubén Darío we will present the film “Mailen – Creando desde el dialogo intercultural” realized by Amandine Coulombel who followed the team Mailen Plateria Textil from Mapuche lands to the workshops of Valparaíso.
The team Mailen will be with us to talk about their project.
From Tirúa to the workshops of Valparaíso, we travel in the time and the environment, the poesy and the art, to discover techniques and ancestral inspirations that will give life to a wonderfull collection.
A big admiration and respect for Mapuche people take the team to this adventure. Between the wish to discover more and more about this culture and the fear to loose those knowledges, the ancestral is mixed to the contemporary to make 30 pieces of jewelry, splendid mix between silver and weaving art.
